Upcoming Web3 MMORPG 77-Bit has announced that it will enter open beta on the Abstract blockchain, coinciding with the chain’s mainnet launch in January 2025.
The open beta of this blockchain game will see players dive into a vast open world environment with fast-paced combat and both PvP and PvE gameplay – with opportunities to gather both NFT collectibles and real-world rewards throughout this phase of the game.
An exact launch date for 77-Bit has yet to be revealed, although the developers have stated that we can expect a “new era” to begin “this week.”

What is 77-Bit?
77-bit is a free-to-play cyberpunk anime-themed MMORPG game, built on Abstract, and available via browser.
Developed by Analog Games – who have spent the past 3 years making the game – players are pulled into a detailed open-world of fast-paced PvP and PvE combat. By raiding dungeons, completing quests and progressing through rogueike game modes such as Darknet, players collect 77-Bit Artifacts.
These 77-Bit Artifacts are exclusive NFTs which can reward digital art and physical merch, and will carry “utility in-game or real-world value,” according to Analog Games.

What is Abstract?
Abstract is an Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain that is expected to hold its mainnet launch in January 2025.
The blockchain is the product of Igloo Inc. – the parent company of the Pudgy Penguins NFT collection – and has generated huge anticipation across the community ahead of its launch. Abstract is built from the ground-up to be consumer-focused, and will be open source on launch.
Dozens of NFT collections, games, products and services have been announced for Abstract so far, with 77-Bit being the latest game to announce its use of the blockchain.
