Initially launched at approximately $0.20 USD, $ANIME quickly lost ground, with the price now hovering around $0.04 USD according to data from CoinGecko.
What is $ANIME?
The $ANIME token is designed to create a decentralised, community-driven ecosystem for anime fans. According to the Animecoin Foundation, $ANIME is referred to as a “Culture Coin,” is intended to bring together fans, creators, and contributors into a unified economic network.
The main goal of $ANIME is to enable the anime community to actively participate in the industry by offering tools and resources to fund, create, and distribute content. The token seeks to remove traditional barriers between creators and fans, encouraging direct interaction and collaboration.
$ANIME is also intended to support anime-related projects through grants and community-managed initiatives.
How did the $ANIME launch impacted the Azuki ecosystem?
The early performance of $ANIME has largely been shaped by the actions of those who received the token via airdrops where many of these recipients have chosen to sell off their tokens almost immediately causing the price to spiral downward.
This fallout has been felt throughout the Azuki ecosystem, particularly in the NFT market. Azuki NFTs, which were trading above 12 ETH just days ago, have seen their prices drop by approximately 70%, now valued at less than 4 ETH.
Market analysts suggest that the token’s performance is typical for new cryptocurrency projects, especially those linked to popular entertainment. Despite the current downturn, there are expectations that the token will recover in the coming months.
