R-Planet Proto Robot Crafting

091-1

Earlier today at 18:00 UTC, R-Planet activated crafting for their Proto Robots – a set of units primed for combat within their upcoming Conquest game – which are available for just 24 hours.

By utilising a myriad of R-Planet minerals, three different robot types can be constructed; Chad – a fast aviation unit, Quasimodo – a lumbering ground unit, and Bobert – a strong anti-air unit, in both small and big sizes.

Within R-Planet’s Conquest game, these robots will be able to defend your base, act as reinforcements, and aid with mineral mining.

Once crafted, these robots are tradable as like any other NFT, but once activated within R-Planet’s Conquest game, they are locked-in, making them one-time use assets.

Find out more about these Proto Robots in R-Planet’s latest Medium post.

Opinion: R-Planet is one of the top 2 collections on AtomicHub, and it’s no wonder. Their blend of staking, crafting and discovering the unknown has proven a hit ever since its launch, and with the development of their Conquest game, R-Planet veterans and newcomers alike have a whole new aspect of Captain Pig’s universe to look forward to. For those looking to get a head-start, this is the way to do it. No doubt, these robots will become much sought-after in time, so I’d strongly advise giving the Medium post a read and seeing if it’s for you.

Collectible Causes Launch

091-2

This Saturday at 16 UTC, Collectibles Causes – a charity project dedicated towards raising money for good causes, launches on WAX.

Collectibles Causes allows quality, local artists to transform their work into NFTs, giving them access to a global marketplace whilst also giving a healthy portion of the profits to charity.

Their launch packs feature the art of Karen Neufeld, a talented acrylic artist who’s free-flowing pieces capture the winds through the Alberta wilderness she loves with an immense sense of movement and emotion.

Three pack sizes are available; a $10 USD 5-card pack, a $30 20-card pack, and a $60 50-card pack, all purchasable using WAX. Holders will be able to blend their cards to win unique prizes, obtain physical cards, and will be entered into draws to win custom painting commissions.

50% of the net profits will be donated to the Alberta Wilderness Association, with a further 25% being donated directly to the artist.

Head to the Collectible Causes website for the latest info, collect the free daily promo here, and view the main drop here.

Opinion: The myriad ways that NFT projects are able to both onboard traditional artists and support good causes never ceases to bring a smile to my face. Collectors can obtain quality art (with the chance of extras), a good charity is able to continue their mission, and an artist is fairly remunerated for her work – it’s another example of a win, win, win that’s become a hallmark of strong charitable initiatives on WAX. We’ve seen an increasing amount of talented traditional artists embrace NFTs as this year has gone on, and Karen’s art here joins a vaunted collective that’s been welcomed with open arms by the WAX community.

Ancient Realms Chest Drop

091-3

This Saturday at 17 UTC, play-to-earn incremental RPG Ancient Realms will be dropping chests containing equippable weapons and gear for your character.

This marks Ancient Realms first drop in three months, following their Fishing Rod pack drop in July, and comes after a Closed Beta period in which various community members were able to get their hands on the gameplay.

Four different chests are available; a Starter Weapon and Starter Gear Chest – both $30 USD in WAX and containing 2 and 3 NFTs respectively, and a Large Weapon and Large Gear Chest – both $50 and containing 4 and 6 NFTs respectively.

These weapons and gear pieces will serve to improve your stats in-game, similar to how the Fishing Rods improve your in-game fishing ability.

Find out more about this drop through Ancient Realms most recent Medium post.

Opinion: I was able to have a brief play-around with the game recently, and overall, it was a pleasurable experience. The UI was well-designed and logical, the combat functioned well, and the reward system appeared to be balanced. Of course, being in a beta phase, there are improvements to be made, but the foundations are there for a quality, browser-based blockchain game. To that end, I would encourage you to read the Medium post and learn a little more about the project. I’ll certainly look to pick up a chest or two, and I’m sure I won’t be the only one.

Track of the Week

This week, we’re heading back to Oxymorrons for Pretty People, from their new EP Mohawks & Durags, available as an NFT through YoshiDrops. It’s a pop-punk-meets-rap anthem in classic Oxy style, and is the type of track everyone can get their groove on to!

Tap on the image to check out the NFT on AtomicHub, and if you like what you hear, grab a copy for yourself on the secondary market!
