In the worst-kept secret in recent memory, promo NFTs have been dropping throughout this week that are heavily linked to new music from heavy metal pioneers Slipknot.
A total of 9 promo NFTs are set to be released, each an audio-visual snippet of as-yet unreleased music. 6 have already dropped, with the final 3 set to drop tomorrow (Wednesday 3rd) at an unknown time.
Released ahead of KnotFest Los Angeles on November 5 – where a number of “surprises” have already been promised by frontman Corey Taylor – whether this is just a new single or something more is yet to be seen, but with each promo selling out thus far, the hype is hitting fever pitch.

Opinion: It’s been amusing to see some crypto-focused outlets try to keep up the mystique of who these promo NFTs could be for when Kerrang! and a slew of other metal publications all but confirmed it earlier today. Slipknot’s fanbase is huge, so it’ll be interesting to see how many of them discover and integrate into the NFT community through this. I’m a huge Slipknot fan, and I have so many questions. Is this for a single, or an album? Will we be able to buy the album on-chain, similar to BABYMETAL? Is this a one-off, or will Slipknot do more on WAX? Only time will tell, but I can’t wait to discover the answers!
Draco Dice Pre-Sale
This Saturday at 16 UTC, digital dice collection Draco Dice hold their first Dice Pack pre-sale.
Three types of packs will be available; Minor Portal Boxes (6 dice for $9.95 in WAX), Major Portal Boxes (36 dice for $49.95 in WAX) and a special collab Blockchain Heroes Booster Box (6 dice for $14.95).
These dice are expected to find utility through the Draco Dice Skirmish mobile game, due to release in January 2022.

Opinion: The concept of digital dice is certainly an interesting one as there’s plenty of blockchain games both present and in development where a method of rolling a random number could be of use, D&D-style. As with any new project with a game on its roadmap, do your own research. Take a look at the website, join the Discord and ask questions – be comfortable before joining the pre-sale hype train!
Cosmos Eleven Launch
Also this Saturday at 16 UTC, football management game Cosmos Eleven hold their Main Pack drop.
Three packs are available, containing a mixture of players, medics and tactics of various rarities. There’s the Striker Pack (13 cards for $12, with no Epics or Legendaries), the Hot Shot Pack (also 13 cards for $12, with rarer cards included) and the MVP Pack (27 cards for $170, including an exclusive Coach card).
Personalities such as TD, Sanyika and Sammy Snake have already make an appearance in the collection through a variety of promo cards as all efforts ramp up prior to the gameplay release.

Opinion: Real football (sorry, Americans!) has seen little representation on WAX thus far, and with football management titles being such a beloved genre on this side of the pond, it’s great to see a project embrace the idea. Their Discord is a veritable who’s who of known figures in the community, and I’ve had nothing but pleasurable experiences with the team thus far. Again, as with all new blockchain projects with gamification in the pipelines, do your own research!
