Prepare to fight!
Kaidro, the wildly popular webcomic & media franchise, have announced that their upcoming eponymous story-based APRG is set to launch on Immutable.
Created by Robert Simons and Peggy Chung – founders of Gadget-Bot Productions – Kaidro is hoping to bring its legion of fans to the Immutable chain, with Robert and Peggy leveraging their previous expertise working on games such as Call of Duty, PUBG, Apex Legends and more to build a compelling, blockchain-powered storytelling experience.
What is Kaidro?
Kaidro’s inaugural webcomic, Kaidro: The Awakening, began in 2020. The story follows a young mech pilot in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic world, battling physical, personal and political dangers at every turn. A smash-hit success, Kaidro expanded to video, gathering 40 million total views to date.
Building on the webcomic, the Immutable-powered Kaidro APRG will see players take on the role of a bounty hunter caught between worlds, tasked with eliminating a vicious astral warrior that’s tearing reality apart, fending off ferocious Void creatures whilst you’re at it. Players will need to pilot mechs, harness unique skills and assemble clans to save the world from annihilation.
Top clans will earn special NFT airdrops and $KDR, Kaidro’s native fungible token.
What is the Kaidro Genesis Collection?
Kaidro’s upcoming NFT Genesis collection will see collectors acquire mechs, spirit guardians and pilot NFTs, with each giving the owner access to unique storylines and lore for the characters they acquire.
A date for the mint has yet to be revealed.
In addition to the game, Kaidro also plans to begin work on an animated TV show in collaboration with famed writer and producer Tim Hedrick, who has written for Avatar: The Last Airbender, Voltron: Legendary Defender, and Fast & Furious Spy Racers.
Andrew Sorokovsky, VP of Global Business Development at Immutable, said:
“We’re honoured to welcome Kaidro to the Immutable family. Kaidro is unique because it brings well-established and highly popular IP to Web3. We’re excited to see what the franchise delivers and thrilled to be partnering with them to bring their vision to life.”
Peggy Chung, Co-founder and CEO at Kaidro, added:
“We’re thrilled to partner with Immutable to bring the Kaidro universe to Web3. We’ve always taken a community-first approach to storytelling experiences, and this collaboration allows us to explore new frontiers in gaming and offer tangible ownership to our dedicated community.”
