What is Doodles 2?
Doodles 2 is an app-based experience which allows users to create and personalise their own on-chain Doodles character. This includes attributes such as body, hairstyle, emotion, apparel, accessories and more, and will see additional wearables made available via limited-edition drops tied to real-world events and brand collaborations.
Holders can enjoy endless customization of their own personalised, dynamic NFT identities – with no gas fees and a seamless checkout experience – to use across social networks, gaming platforms, live events, streaming content, retail activations and more.
Jordan Castro, Co-Founder and Head of Product at Doodles, said:
“Doodles 2 is the perfect combination of self-expression, collecting and community, inside a frictionless app that’s powered by blockchain technology. Tech aside, Doodles 2 is the passport that’s used in all of our products – experiences, games, apps, music, animation releases – to bring further personalization, customization and rewards to our fans.”
Flow’s onboarding and security will aim to make Doodles 2 accessible to Web3 veterans and newcomers alike. Dieter Shirley, Chief Architect of Flow, added:
“Doodles is one of the most recognizable brands in Web3, with a community as vibrant as the Doodles themselves. With Doodles 2, they’re unlocking more value for their existing community, whilst setting the stage for many more folks to join the joyful, inclusive world of Doodles. I’m so excited for the launch!”
So why did we choose Flow for Doodles 2?
We’re able to create a frictionless on-chain app that lets mainstream fans customize their Doodle without limits.

What does this mean for Doodles on Ethereum?
The launch of Doodles 2 on Flow will also mark the start of cross-interoperability with Ethereum, allowing the franchise to continue to grow its brand across other mediums whilst supporting and investing in its core Web3 community.
Julian Holguin, CEO of Doodles, also added:
“We’re excited to continue investing in Doodles’ core collections on Ethereum, while also connecting Doodles everywhere our community lives and creates. As we grow our brand across other verticals like animation and music, we believe the combination of Ethereum and Flow is the ideal format to support and invest in our core Web3 community, while opening the gates to welcome new collectors.”
What’s next for Doodles?
The first step of the Doodles 2 experience opened on February 1st as Dooplication went live, allowing Dooplicator NFTs holders to acquire the wearables of existing Doodles characters as individual NFTs, plus giving users a chance at exclusive Doodles 2 Beta Passes.
Dooplicators are still available via the secondary market, with a range of wearables and Beta Passes also up for grabs on Gaia.
Genesis Boxes, containing genesis-edition Doodles 2 wearables, are slated to open later this month.
Opinion
Since the landmark appointment of Pharrell as Doodles’ Chief Brand Officer in June last year, news has been slow but strong from the Doodles camp – which has attracted an equal share of praise and critique from holders and speculators alike.
Prices of Doodles have fallen in the past month, from 7.80 ETH on January 25th to 6.20 ETH on February 1st, sitting at 5.9 ETH at the time of writing. Dooplicators fell from 0.85 ETH on activation to 0.32 ETH today, with Genesis Boxes rising from a 0.20 ETH floor to 0.24 ETH in the same time period.
What’s next for Doodles? With NFT.NYC coming up, will Doodles create another outstanding IRL experience, with blockbuster announcements to boot? We’ll have to wait and see!
