Web3 play-to-earn fantasy MMORPG DeFi Kingdoms has just begun its six-month-long Player vs Player (PvP) tournament series with over $75,000 in prizes up for grabs.
Exclusively on the Metis network, players will battle their way through various competitions in the DFK Colosseum, leading up to the final All-Star Tournament where the winner will claim the grand prize of $10,000.
Whether you’re a veteran warrior or a casual player, the tournament caters to players of all skill levels and there’s all kinds of opportunities to earn valuable in-game assets and the coveted Qualifier Tokens – these tokens grant access to higher-level tournaments or can be traded on.

What is DeFi Kingdoms?
DeFi Kingdoms is a Medieval Fantasy MMORPG that blends decentralized finance (DeFi) P2E mechanics with immersive RPG gameplay.
Developed by Kingdom Studios, the game features a retro pixel-art style world that revolves around NFT-based characters called Heroes, which players can train, level up and use in quests or combat. Its native cryptocurrency, $JEWEL, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem including governance, staking, and in-game transactions
Originally launched on the Harmony One blockchain, DeFi Kingdoms has since expanded to its own Avalanche subnet, known as the DFK Chain, to improve scalability and security.

How to Get Involved in the PvP Tournaments?
To participate, players must enter a series of bracketed, single-elimination tournaments, each with unique rules and entry requirements. The tournament series structure is as follows:
- Daily Skirmishes (16-player format, Mon-Fri): Requires a $5 entry fee, where top players earn Qualifier Tokens for higher-tier events.
- Weekend Warrior Tournaments (Sat-Sun): Requires a $10 entry fee + Qualifier Token from Daily Skirmishes. Winners earn $100 and tokens for the Champion Invitational.
- Champion Invitational (weekly event): $20 entry fee, 16-player format, with the top 2 players securing a place in the All-Star Tournament. The winner receives $1,000 and treasure chests.
- Revenger’s Champion Tournament (every 6 weeks): A secondary path to the All-Star Tournament, requiring a special Qualifier Token and a $20 entry fee.
- All-Star Tournament (Final event): The top 16 players will compete for the $10,000 grand prize, requiring a $200 entry fee + Qualifier Token from Champion Invitational or Revenger’s Champion.
The tournaments kicked off on February 26, starting with the Submersian Grand Opening Series. Those not looking to fight can spectate or places bets on their favourite champions using the game’s Influence system, earning rewards if they choose correctly.
