Metaverse platform Carrieverse has entered into a content licensing partnership with the Walt Disney Company Korea, which will see Disney characters appear in the metaverse title.
This marks Disney’s first re-entry into the metaverse space since the closure of their metaverse division in 2023, and the first major news of a metaverse expansion since their $1.5B USD investment into Fortnite developers Epic in February 2024.
Fan-favourite characters from Disney movies such as Inside Out, Moana, Elemental, and Coco will appear in Carrieverse, alongside a Disney Exhibition Hall set to debut soon.
What will we see from the Disney x Carrieverse partnership?
This partnership will see roughly 30 Disney and Pixar characters be introduced directly into Carrieverse, including iconic persona from a range of globally-popular films.
In addition, Carrieverse have debuted a Disney Partnership Breakthrough Event. Running until September 30, the event sees a reward structure tied to the price of Carrieverse’s governance token, $CVTX:
- $0.05 USD: 100 $CVTX for 100 holders
- $0.10 USD: 1-month free pass for Disney+ Premium for 50 holders
- $0.15 USD: Marble Run 5km for 20 holders (₩40,000 KRW Amazon Gift Certificate for non-Korean winners; only 10,000+ $CVTX holders eligible)
- $0.20 USD: Singapore Disney Cruise for 3 holders (only 100,000+ $CVTX holders eligible)
- $1.00 USD: A mystery prize, yet to be unveiled
To enter the giveaway, participants must join the Carrieverse Discord and react to the appropriate announcement. Those looking to be eligible for prizes above the $0.10 USD threshold must verify their wallet holdings, with confirmations to be conducted on August 1 and September 1.
News of this partnership saw a positive reaction in the markets, with $CVTX seeing a four-fold increase in price across just two days, with trading volume rising by 146%.

Carrieverse is a recently-developed metaverse platform. With a predominantly South East Asia playerbase, the title has accrued 150,000 daily active users since its open release in March 2024, with plans to enter Indian and North American markets soon.
