Bright Star Studios has recently announced that Ember Sword will be migrating from the Immutable X to Mantle Network, an Ethereum L2 solution.
This move is intended to give players greater control over their in-game assets and simplify the onboarding process for all users.
Previously, Ember Sword transitioned from Polygon ($MATIC) to Immutable X ($IMX), and this shift to Mantle marks another key evolution in the game’s technical infrastructure.

What does this mean for Ember Sword players?
Players may need to transfer their in-game assets to the Mantle Network as part of the transition.
Whilst specific details of the migration have not yet been released, Bright Star Studios has successfully managed similar transitions in the past. Given their previous experience moving from Polygon to Immutable X, players can expect a well-organized process, potentially spanning several weeks.
“By integrating Mantle’s advanced blockchain capabilities, we are enhancing how players control their in-game assets and delivering an unprecedented onboarding experience for all gamers who love MMORPGs, regardless if they are web3 natives or not, said Mark Laursen, Founder and CEO of Bright Star Studios.

What can players expect from this transition?
The transition will introduce Mantle’s modular Ethereum ($ETH) rollup technology to Ember Sword, aiming to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective transactions. This technology will help reduce transaction costs and delays, improving the player experience within the game’s economy.
“Partnering with Mantle allows us to create a more fruitful and engaging player economy,” said Joris Huijbregts, Founder and Chief Development Officer of Bright Star Studios. “We are excited to integrate with the best tools and partners within Mantle Ecosystem to create a scalable and sustainable user journey for our players. This is the future of gaming, where player involvement and control of their items in-game are at the forefront.”
The move is also expected to make the onboarding process more accessible, particularly for players new to blockchain technology. This collaboration highlights a growing trend in the gaming industry towards using blockchain to enhance the player experience.
“Their vision to enable highly accessible, player-centric, blockchain-enabled games aligns perfectly with our mission to enable more gamers to enjoy experiences enhanced with blockchain technology,” added Geezee, Head of Gaming at Mantle.
