Web3 MMO EVE Frontier has opened a 10-day free trial, allowing anyone to try out the burgeoning strategy title for free until July 7.
Coming three weeks after the official Founder Access launch on June 11 – which required a minimum $39.99 USD purchase – this move hopes to encourage more players to try out the game; both Web3 fans, and existing EVE Online players from the traditional gaming space.

What is EVE Frontier?
EVE Frontier is a sci-fi strategy MMO game, built on Ethereum via Optimism-powered Layer-2 network Redstone, and available on PC.
Developed by CCP Games – the creators of massively popular MMO game EVE Online – EVE Frontier is the next-generation of this 20+year title. Players embark on a journey across the stars that’s fraught with danger at every turn, building ships, assembling crews, collecting resources, and influence the universe at large.
The game has a set of unique mechanics and complexities that build on its predecessor, utilising blockchain technology to facilitate even more detailed in-game economies, features and experiences.
Outside of this current free trial period, EVE Frontier is available to play for purchasers of their Founder tier membership package – priced at $39.99 USD – and above.

How can I play the EVE Frontier free trial?
To play EVE Frontier for free until July 7, visit their website, sign-up for an account, and download the game client.
All of the game’s core gameplay features – including base building, resource harvesting, Tribes and more – will be available to enjoy. Free trial players can also earn Grace, a temporary currency that can be converted into EVE Points.
“As we move into the New Era and begin the cycles program, it is a perfect time to open the game so that more new players can experience life in the Frontier,” said Ben Sisson, Community Developer at CCP Games.
“Overall, the response across the board to EVE Frontier leveraging blockchain in the way that we have, especially as it relates to modding and third-party development, has been overwhelmingly positive.”
