Web3 fantasy franchise Forgotten Runes have revealed their $XP token, to serve as the central currency for its interconnected ecosystem.
The token is designed to unify the franchise’s various components, including its blockchain MMORPG Forgotten Runiverse, NFT collections, and community-driven storytelling initiatives.
By integrating $XP into its ecosystem, Forgotten Runes aims to streamline interactions, incentivize participation, and create a consistent in-game and on-chain economy.
What is the $XP token?
$XP is positioned as the primary currency within the Forgotten Runes universe, tying together its on-chain and off-chain elements. The token will be used for transactions, incentivising player participation, and enabling interactions across the franchise’s various offerings.
The upcoming Forgotten Runiverse, a blockchain MMORPG set to launch in 2025, will be one of the first major integrations of $XP. Built on the Ronin Network, the game will feature blockchain-based mechanics such as NFT ownership of in-game items and resource-based token systems. $XP will power the game’s economy, allowing players to earn, trade, and spend within the immersive world.
The Arcane Foundation will oversee the token’s rollout and management, ensuring its functionality aligns with the broader goals of the ecosystem. Whilst specific details about all potential use cases remain forthcoming, $XP’s integration into Forgotten Runiverse indicates its pivotal role in the franchise’s future.
Expanding the Forgotten Runes Universe

Forgotten Runes is anchored by 12 NFT collections, including Wizards, Warriors, and Beasts, each featuring metaverse-ready assets such as 2D animations and 3D models. Holders of these NFTs can contribute to the Book of Lore, an on-chain repository where community members shape the narrative by adding backstories and artwork.
The project also includes the House of Wizards DAO, which gives members a voice in funding and governance decisions. This decentralized structure supports creator-led initiatives and helps guide the franchise’s direction.
