Ronin-based fantasy MMORPG Forgotten Runiverse have announced significant changes to the game’s economic systems in an effort to address ongoing concerns around fairness, resource inflation, and exploitation. The update includes immediate revisions to how in-game resources like Mana and Quanta are used, as well as future plans to overhaul systems related to crafting, trading, and player activity.
The announcement comes amid a delay in the distribution of the next round of $PIXEL token rewards, which are used to incentivise player engagement. According to the development team, the delay is due to high levels of bot activity and the need to complete a thorough review of player appeals.
Whilst no new distribution date has been set, developers say legitimate players can expect improved reward levels once distribution resumes.

What can we expect from this update?
Several immediate changes have been implemented, most of which focus on restricting actions that were previously open to abuse:
- Mana Costs for Plot Management: Players are now required to spend Mana to add co-owners or builders to their land plots. This adjustment is intended to prevent frequent switching of collaborators, a practice previously linked to exploitative farming.
- Infusions Limited to Plot Owners: Only the designated landowner can now carry out infusions—actions that enhance buildings. Previously, this process could be completed by any added collaborator, which developers say was contributing to economic imbalance.
- Temporary Infusion Discounts: To ease the transition and reduce the impact of these restrictions on active players, infusion costs have been temporarily reduced across all building types. These discounts are not permanent and will be reviewed in future updates.

What’s next for Forgotten Runiverse?
The development roadmap outlines several key economic reforms planned for upcoming updates:
- Production Limits on Crafting Buildings: Daily output caps will be placed on Forges and Workshops to prevent a handful of high-volume plots from dominating the item economy. This change is intended to give smaller operations a better chance to participate in the crafting system.
- Tiered Gear Infusion System: Equipment infusion will soon be expanded to allow players to choose from multiple tiers, affecting both the cost in Mana and the probability of receiving high-value attributes. Top-tier results will require higher resource input.
- Temple Sacrifice System Revamp: Rewards for sacrificing items will become variable, with certain time windows offering greater returns. This is intended to reduce repetitive farming patterns and encourage more diverse gameplay.
- In-Game Marketplace Launch: An official trading platform using Mana is set to replace informal over-the-counter (OTC) trading. This aims to improve transaction transparency and player safety.
- Rest System: A new system will track player activity and introduce a “rest” component, which reduces efficiency the longer a player remains active. Rest regenerates over time and more quickly within player-owned and decorated homes, incentivising both downtime and investment in in-game housing.
These changes are part of a broader effort to stabilise the game’s economy, reduce exploitative play, and support a more balanced experience for all players. The rollout of additional updates is expected to continue over the coming months.
Whilst there is no official timeline yet for the resumption of $PIXEL token distribution, the team has stated that all flagged accounts are under review and that fairness remains a priority. Until then, players can expect continued system adjustments aimed at preparing the game for its next phase of development.
