Pixelcraft Studios has introduced Geist, a new Ethereum ($ETH) Layer-3 gaming blockchain, developed in collaboration with Arbitrum ($ARB) Orbit, Base, and Alchemy.
Geist is designed to address specific challenges in blockchain gaming, including bot activity, multi-accounting, and reward distribution inefficiencies.
The platform features a membership model that limits reward access to verified users, aiming to improve the gaming experience within the Aavegotchi ecosystem.
What is Geist?
Initially referred to as “Gotchichain” during its development, Geist is an Ethereum Layer-3 gaming chain created to support gaming applications and meet the needs of the web3 gaming community.
Geist implements a members-only model, restricting access to reward programs to invited users. This is intended to prevent exploitation by bots and multiple accounts, common issues in open blockchain networks. Geist serves as the primary blockchain for Aavegotchi-related games and applications.
Built on the Arbitrum rollup stack and supported by Alchemy, Geist provides a robust infrastructure with tools such as APIs and webhooks. The platform includes the on-chain NFT marketplace, Aavegotchi Baazaar, which facilitates royalty payments.
Users can access $ETH and $GHST through Coinbase integrations, with additional transaction features like account abstraction and gasless relayers.
Before the mainnet launch, the Polter Testnet will be deployed for testing and preparing members for the full rollout of Geist.
How do I become a member?
Invitations to join Geist are initially offered to Aavegotchi NFT holders, providing access to the platform’s reward programs, including airdrops and special events.
To become a member, invited users must accept the invitation and complete the necessary activation steps.
For those without Aavegotchi NFTs, there will be opportunities to apply for membership. Users can register on the Geist website and mint a commemorative NFT on Arbitrum or Base. Membership is limited, and only a select number of applicants will be accepted.
