Popular web3 trading-card game Gods Unchained has announced that the first event for their brand-new Sealed Mode, titled The Bull Run, will begin on December 3.
Running until January 7, The Bull Run will see players duke it out in a lower-cost pay-to-enter tournament than standard Sealed Mode affairs, with prizes including exclusive card packs, Flux currency, and $GODS tokens.
Sealed Mode sees players build a brand-new deck from a pool of cards, with the aim to use that deck to achieve seven victories for the best rewards. Once a player loses three times with that deck, their run is over.
What is Gods Unchained?
Gods Unchained is a free-to-play, play-to-earn trading card game, built on Ethereum Layer-2 network Immutable.
Players select a god and build decks of cards – featuring creatures, spells and money – to face off against other players in head-to-head matchups.
Each card comes in various rarities – akin to physical card games – with players owning each of their cards as NFTs on Immutable. This allows players to buy, sell and trade their cards with their friends and other players around the world.
Gods Unchained has a loyal core community, and an ever-growing competitive scene, attracting both web3 natives and non-crypto TCG fans.
What else have Gods Unchained been working on?
On November 28, the Gods Unchained team released a major update to the new player experience.
This update saw tweaks to the Ranked system that makes it much easier for new players to hit Rank 7 – the level at which players can earn $GODS rewards, obtain prizes from Ranked mode, and unlock access to additional modes, such as Sealed Mode.
By following this update up with the debut of The Bull Run on December 3, Gods Unchained are looking to give new players a taste of both Sealed Mode, and the organised tournaments for which the game has earned a reputation.
