Web3 trading card game Gods Unchained has pushed a sizeable update to the title, adding customizable avatars and an improved progression system.
These improvements are intended to create a more personalized and satisfying in-game experience.
The avatar update allows players to be represented by their favourite NFT cards on their digital profiles, whilst the new progression system more adequately reflects the time investment, skill level and effort that players have put into the game thus far.
What is Gods Unchained?
Gods Unchained is a free-to-play, play-to-earn trading card game. Players compete against one another in 1v1 matches, with players able to own their in-game cards as NFTs on the Ethereum and Immutable X blockchains.
Alongside the ability to own these cards, players can also trade, sell and send cards to their friends – just as with physical trading cards.
The game has a dedicated community and a growing competitive scene, with a variety of tournaments and events attracting TCG fans to the title thus far.

What new features have been teased?
Alongside the new avatar and progression systems, the developers have teased a series of future updates coming to Gods Unchained.
One such feature is called Flashback, which will allow players to relive previous versions of the game – ideal for revisiting particularly interesting periods in the title’s meta, or experiencing the game prior to the introduction of particular cards.
There are also plans to rework the game’s ecosystem to provide stronger rewards based on in-game playtime. The planned changes in this rework include a change to make those Rank 6 no longer earn Fragments, an in-game currency, when they win a match.
Further teased features include an update to tackle bots, a restructuring of tournament prize pools, and additional support for content creators – alongside rumours of an upcoming cross-game collaboration with fellow Immutable-based title Guild of Guardians.
