Gotchi Guardians is now playable directly in web browsers, removing the need for a separate game launcher and makes the game more accessible to users.
The update also includes several new features, including support for the $GHST token, NFT-linked character skins, and a viewing mode for live matches.
The browser release comes as the game remains in its alpha stage of development. Developers are using the current version to test core mechanics and gather community feedback ahead of a planned full release.

What is Gotchi Guardians?
Gotchi Guardians is a real-time strategy and tower defense game linked to the Aavegotchi digital collectibles platform wherein players control “Guardians” who must defend their territory and collect in-game resources.
It forms part of the broader Aavegotchi ecosystem, which includes on-chain NFTs, a dedicated token economy, and other games. The project remains in active development and is currently in version 0.8.5 (alpha).
The game is being developed in stages, with new systems added incrementally over time.

What’s else is new with Gotchi Guardians?
The most recent update introduces support for $GHST—the native token of the Aavegotchi ecosystem—wherein players can now use $GHST on the Base network to purchase G-Bucks, the game’s internal currency. An option to make purchases using credit cards has also been added via a third-party payment provider.
Several gameplay-related features have also been added such as cosmetic skins linked to Aavegotchi NFTs. Whilst these visual changes do not affect gameplay, it allows players to customise the appearance of their characters although. In addition, a new Spectator Mode has been implemented, giving users the ability to watch live matches without directly participating.
Alongside these updates, a new content initiative has been launched where players can submit gameplay clips for a chance to receive $GHST rewards. Selected entries may receive between 100 and 1,000 $GHST, based on factors such as editing quality and online engagement.
