Off the Grid developer Gunzilla Games has announced the launch of the GUNZ Foundation, a non-profit initiative created in partnership with investment firm Delphi Ventures.
The foundation will oversee the development of the GUNZ blockchain network and its cryptocurrency token, $GUN.
The initiative is part of Gunzilla’s broader effort to integrate blockchain technology into gaming, enabling players to take greater control over their in-game assets and participate in an open and flexible digital economy.

What is Off the Grid?
Off the Grid, which entered early access in October, is a battle royale title and has already incorporated blockchain functionality on a test network.
When a player first launch the game, a wallet is automatically created on the GUNZ testnet, where all in-game items are represented as NFTs. These items will eventually transition to the GUNZ mainnet following its launch.
Unlike traditional gaming marketplaces, which often limit trading to proprietary platforms, the GUNZ network will support transactions on external platforms like OpenSea.
This approach is designed to grant players full ownership of their assets whilst fostering a decentralized trading ecosystem.

Gunzilla Games: When will the GUNZ mainnet launch?
Gunzilla Games has hinted at a potential early 2025 launch for the GUNZ mainnet and $GUN token, though a final date has not been confirmed.
This launch is expected to make blockchain technology a core component of Off the Grid, transitioning the game from a test environment to a fully realized blockchain-integrated experience.
Delphi Ventures will play a key role in advising on tokenomics and ecosystem design, with the aim of building a sustainable and balanced economic model for players and developers alike.
