Highstreet World Partners With Animoca Brands On ‘Initial Home Offering’
This August, the retail-focused metaverse project takes a big step forward with the announcement of residences-for-sale and a landmark partnership.
If you had any doubts that 2022 was the year of the metaverse, think again.
Today, Highstreet World – the retail focused metaverse project – announced a partnership with Web3 mainstays Animoca Brands to support their ‘Initial Home Offering’ – 5,000 All-Terrain Trailers which Highstreet users can transform into virtual residences.
Alongside this IHO, Highstreet have unveiled the Animoca Archipelago – a region within HSW featuring Animoca’s leading games, communities and projects – joining Binance Beach, AVAX Alps and Everyrealm.
Whitelisting for the sale – which is yet to announce prices – will begin this month, with minting to take place on Highstreet’s own marketplace. Keep an eye on their Twitter, Telegram and Discord for the latest information.
Yat Siu, co-founder and Chairman of Animoca Brands, praised the partnership. “We are committed to a metaverse that is open and interoperable. Highstreet is an exciting investment for us because it brings together brands from both the Web3 and traditional online worlds, allowing assets to flow between them.”
Travis Wu, CEO of Highstreet, also expressed his excitement. “Animoca Archipelago is a place where many universes shaped by games, brands, and IP coexist in harmony. Highstreet World participants will be able to farm experience points by defeating monsters in the archipelago, eventually opening up new options in their gameplay as they level up.”
Would it be too cringe-y to label this as “hot metaverse summer”? Probably, but I’ll do it anyway.
Highstreet World is the latest metaverse to be making big moves this August, with Otherside picking up steam and The Sandbox‘s next major update slated to arrive within the coming weeks.
Typically, what equates to another virtual property sale wouldn’t warrant a special mention, but following partnerships with Binance and AVAX amongst others, this partnership with Animoca confirms that Highstreet are here for the long-haul, and could very well pledge their place as the retail metaverse of the future.
