The latest update for the open-world auto-battler RPG Illuvium, Patch 1.1.0, introduces an exciting new feature: Gauntlet Leviathan Mode.
This mode allows players to strategically utilize their NFT collections, including Illuvials, Weapons, and Suits, in a more competitive and tactical gameplay environment.
In addition to this major update, Patch 1.1.0 includes a variety of bug fixes, improvements, and upgrades to both the Overworld and Arena modes.
What is Gauntlet Leviathan Mode?
Gauntlet Leviathan Mode presents a fresh challenge for Illuvium players, enabling them to deploy their owned NFTs, such as Illuvials, Weapons, and Suits, each retaining its respective power level. Unlike other modes, this feature focuses on players’ highest-level assets, providing a distinct advantage to those who have invested in enhancing their collections.
In this mode, non-owned units are standardized at level 1, whilst owned units retain their full levels. The shop dynamically adjusts available units based on those already deployed or equipped, adding a layer of strategy as players must carefully manage their assets. Once a unit is used, it is removed from the shop until it is sold or fused.
Only Stage 1 Illuvials are initially available for purchase, requiring players to fuse higher-stage units. Weapons and Suits follow similar mechanics, with the highest-level versions prioritized in the shop and unavailable once equipped.
What else is new in Patch 1.1.0?
Beyond the introduction of Gauntlet Leviathan Mode, Patch 1.1.0 brings significant updates to the Overworld and Arena modes.
Overworld gameplay now features rebalanced Illuvial spawn weights, making higher-stage Illuvials more common and improving the net value per cost across regions. Fusion costs for Tier 5 Illuvials have increased by 50%, whilst the cost to cure Resplendent Shards has been reduced to 1000.
The Arena mode has also been enhanced with randomized runs in the Survival arena, introducing more unpredictability. Additionally, players can now encounter more waves encouraging exploration of the new features.
