Immutable-powered gaming franchise Illuvium has announced that it will leverage the fast-rising AI agent Virtuals Protocol to enhance their in-game NPCs.
Virtuals Protocol tech will be implemented across Illuvium’s trio of core titles; Illuvium: Overworld, Illuvium: Arena, and Illuvium: Zero. The initial focus is on Illuvium: Overworld ahead of its scheduled major update in Q2 2025.
Players can expect to see richer, more immersive and more dynamic quests, lore and in-game interactions, with NPCs set to receive a significant boost that the developers hope will help to build a living, breathing NFT game.
What is Illuvium?
Illuvium is an ecosystem of Web3 games, built on Immutable, and available on both PC and mobile.
The ecosystem spans a number of titles. Its core trio includes MMO experience Illuvium: Overworld, autobattler Illuvium: Arena, and strategy and construction title Illuvium: Zero – with collectible card game Illuvium: Beyond serving as a spin-off experience.
The core Illuvium: Overworld game held its official launch in July 2o24. Players navigate an expansive open world, capturing creatures called Illuvials to train them for use in PVP battles. It is all with the $ILV token serving as the core of the Illuvium ecosystem.
Currently, Illuvium is working towards a Q2 2025 overhaul of Illuvium: Overworld, designed to refocus the experience into a truly modern MMO.
