Gaming-focused blockchain Immutable leads the way in the latest State of Web3 Gaming report by the Game7 DAO.
Amongst many impressive stats, the popular Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain led the way in newly-announced titles, with 181 titles announced over the past 12 months, representing 71% year-on-year growth.
The report also outlined the breakthrough of Telegram as a major platform for Web3 games, signifying its importance as a major platform for the industry at large.

How is Immutable leading the way in Web3 gaming?
In addition to the wave of newly-announced titles, the report outlined the wave of Web3 games migrating to Immutable from other blockchains.
Rival Ethereum Layer-2 Polygon – with which Immutable has a strategic partnership – saw 33% of the games that left its blockchain head to Immutable. In fact, Immutable saw more games switch to them than any other blockchain, with 33 Web3 games migrating to Immutable in the past year.
With that said, 16 titles did leave Immutable for other ecosystems – with Kaidro‘s departure to the Ronin network being one of the most notable examples.

What other highlights featured in the report?
In encouraging news, Web3 gaming as a whole saw a 17% increase in overall funding, showcasing increased investor interest in the industry at large.
The past twelve months have also seen Layer-3 networks – game or app-specific blockchains – explode in popularity, with more games announcing a launch on a Layer-3 network than Layer-2 or Layer-1 blockchains for the first time.
It wasn’t all positive news however. The report states that only 45% of announced Web3 games are currently in a playable state – and of those, just 34% have integrated their planned blockchain infrastructure. This could indicate a struggle to get web3 features operating correctly, or a lack of appropriate support from infrastructure providers or platforms.
