NEXPACE, the web3 subsidiary of South Korean video game publisher Nexon, have opened registration for the Pioneer Test of upcoming web3 MMORPG MapleStory N, set to release later this year.
The registration period is open until July 7, with the Pioneer Test giving players the first opportunity to experience MapleStory N, which is built on Polygon and will be playable on PC.
The Pioneer Test is set to take place from July 24 to August 2.
What is MapleStory N?
MapleStory N is an upcoming Polygon-based web3 MMORPG, playable on PC, that integrates blockchain technology into the popular MapleStory IP.
Players navigate a fantasy world in typical MapleStory styling. Whilst core gameplay is similar to the tried-and-tested MapleStory experience, the experience of loot, item drops and crafting will be different, with on-chain items enhancing player agency, ownership and the ability to earn.
MapleStory N is the first title in the anticipated MapleStory Universe, a network of blockchain-based titles set within MapleStory’s lore and worlds, and is the latest release in the MapleStory family, which features a global community of over 180 million registered players.
How can I take part in the Pioneer Test?
Once you’ve registered for the Pioneer Test and completed a short survey, Nexon staff will manually oversee each application. Those selected to participate in the Pioneer Test will be informed on July 18.
Running from July 24 to August 2, the Pioneer Test will see players experience MapleStory N for the first time, and will include a limited supply of rewards and testing of the player-controlled pricing system.
Players will also be able to test their skills against the Zakum boss, in both Easy mode (Entry Lv.50+) and Normal mode (Entry Lv.90+), showcasing the challenges that lay ahead for players.
“We’re excited to announce the registration for MapleStory N’s Pioneer Test,” said Sunyoung Hwang, Executive Director of NEXPACE. “We are committed to delivering the best version of MapleStory N to the fans of the MapleStory IP based on the test results.”
