Web3 game publisher Moku has secured a $5.35M investment to bolster their publishing ecosystem and to help the global Moku community build their own games.
The investment was led by Sky Mavis and A16Z GAMES and backed by a range of investors including Arca, hiFramework, 32bitventures as well as angel investors like Jeff Zirlin, cofounder of the Ronin network, and Gabby Dizon, cofounder of Yield Guild Games.
Moku hopes to use this investment “to put the power of publishing into the hands of those who truly drive the gaming worlds; gamers and creators.”
Who are Moku?
Moku are a web3 games publisher and creators of Moku HQ, a launchpad for web3 games on the Ronin blockchain and a “home base” for their communities.
They have worked with some of the most popular titles and collections in the industry, including Pixels, CyberKongz and Ragmon Monster World to name a few.
Moku’s creator program is one of the largest around, boasting over 3,000 members, and assisting in the development and promotion of mini-games such as browser-based match-style title Moki Pochi, which has been played over 250,000 times.
What will they do with the investment?
Moku hopes to use this investment to enable their community of gamers and creators to publish their own games.
Moku has already made strides towards achieving this goal with Moku HQ, but they hope to go much further by creating an ecosystem where the Moku community is more than just an audience, but something closer to co-publishers who they can work and share their success with.
To achieve this, Moku wants to build a state of the art distribution ecosystem that uses the latest web3 technology to give gamers and creators the power to bring the next wave of exciting games to the market.
Jeffrey Zirlin expressed his excitement for Moku’s project, stating that the “Moku team demonstrates that amazing talent exists within our community and that the best builders come from the trenches”
