Moonray, a web3 3D arena fighter built on Ethereum, has made it’s debut on the Epic Games Store.
To celebrate its debut, the game has launched a play-to-airdrop initiative, ahead of the launch of its Ethereum-based token $MNRY later this year. By completing daily missions and playing competitive matches, players will be able to increase their allocation of this soon-to-launch token.
The top 1,000 players during this phase will earn a “considerable bonus”, and a variety of social challenges will make participants also eligible for a raffle to win a high-end gaming PC.
What is Moonray?
In development since 2019, Moonray is a 3D hack-and-slash arena fighter on PC. Players select a character and use a variety of weapons to take down their opponents in fantasy post-human environments.
Originally conceived as a metaverse-focused title with arena fighting elements, Moonray has refocused fully on the latter, releasing a genesis NFT collection of 3D characters in 2022. Owners of these NFTs will receive bonuses in the play-to-airdrop phase, though exact details have yet to be determined.
Today, Moonray has both team-based and solo play modes, as well as a leaderboard to track your competitive rankings and a variety of skins to acquire.
The title has a large focus on its lore, with a hardcover novel available to purchase via Amazon, written by Eisner-winning author Brandon Graham and with art from famed fantasy artist Xurxo G Penalta.
How can I play Moonray?
Moonray is available to download and play now from the Epic Games Store.
According to their website, a Steam version is also purported to be on the cards, although as of writing, this appears to not be available.
There is no set end-date for the play-to-airdrop phase, with the Moonpay team only confirmed that once over, participants will receive their $MNRY, which can be used to “enhance” their in-game experience.
