Animal Crossing-esque multplayer farming game My Neighbor Alice has entered Season 2 of its beta phase, introducing a new currency titled $BJORN.
With $BJORN, players can now craft, trade and upgrade their in-game buildings, with the token serving as a companion to the game’s primary token, $ALICE.
The new $BJORN token can only be earned via gameplay, with each land plot containing a set amount of the new token.
What is $BJORN?
With the $BJORN token, My Neighbor Alice – a multiplayer farming game on the Chromia blockchain – is adding a new dimension to its in-game economy. This token can be used to produce tools, upgrade buildings, and unlock special in-game functions.
Whilst the $ALICE token remains the primary token of the game – and will retain its focus on governance and blockchain-related features – $BJORN is purely for in-game use, providing players with a more accessible means to engage in activities and upgrades.
$BJORN has a fixed supply. There is a hard limit of 100,000 land plots in My Neighbor Alice, and each of these plots contains 10 million $BJORN tokens – ensuring that $BJORN remains a valuable and sought-after resource.
How do I earn $BJORN?
Players can earn $BJORN by interacting with a new NPC named Oli, who appears on each land plot. Oli provides free daily $BJORN rewards, and supplies daily quests that can reward additional tokens.
These quests will change each day to keep the experience more engaging, and players will be able to skip or change tasks after a set cooldown period.
Additionally, Oli will assist players in using $BJORN to construct and enhance a variety of permanent structures such as Farmer’s Cottages and Fishing Huts, helping to improve both the aesthetics and the functionality of their land plot.
What is the future of $BJORN?
The Beta Season 2 of My Neighbor Alice will be a trial period for the $BJORN token, where tokenomics, utility and earning rates are set to change and evolve rapidly to ensure a balanced economy.
As the season rolls on, additional use cases will be revealed for the $BJORN token, giving players who acquire it early an advantage with these new features.
