It’s time to show your allegiance!
Today, Supremacy Games – the Finnish game developer and publisher – has announced an agreement with Tyranno Studios (formerly WAX Studios) to give fans of the Star Wars franchise a unique opportunity to purchase an officially-licensed NFT from the creator of the original Stormtrooper helmet Andrew Ainsworth, through his company Shepperton Design Studio.
10,000 Stormtrooper NFTs will be available on Ethereum via Tyranno Studios on October 27, although exact details with regards to time of launch, availability and cost are yet to be released.
Holders of these NFTs will be able to use them in an upcoming game, plus will be able to access future drops based on another, yet unannounced, iconic design by Shepperton.
Opinion
Even if you’re not a Star Wars fan, there’s no mistaking the iconic Stormtrooper image that’s adorned posters and action figures for generations. It’s great to see them enter Web3 – a platform that seems perfect for these intergalactic units.
Supremacy’s partnership with Tyranno seems a step in the right direction for Web3, and whilst there’s still a long way to go before NFTs become mainstream, partnerships such as this one are perfect for bringing fans of classic brands into the blockchain industry.
Steps like these, no matter how small, are solid progress.
