Popular Ronin-based web3 MMO Pixels have announced that their brand-new Guild Crop Wars event will launch this Friday (August 2) at 16 UTC. Guild Crop Wars is an experimental PVP mode – the first of its kind to be added to Pixels – as a Guild vs. Guild-style event.
Each Guild will go head-to-head planting and harvesting Blue Bolete, Purple Parasol and Green Gomphis mushrooms – worth 1, 3 and 5 points respectively – with each successful deposit into the Transmutation Chute.
Alongside growing their own crops, Guilds can use Evil Goo to sabotage crops from other guilds – so shrewd attack and defence will be key to coming out on top.
A 500,000 $PIXEL ($89,000 USD) prize pool is up for grabs between the top guilds, with the top individual players also to be rewarded.
How can I get involved?
Players who wish to participate in the Pixels Guild Crop Wars event must find and join a guild, and be granted a role higher than Supporter. Once done, players can access the Guild Crop Wars event via the cave system in the Pixels HQ basement.
Guilds will be matched against one other depending on member count. Guilds with 1-30 members will be competing for 20% of the 500,000 $PIXEL prize pool, 30-69 member guilds will compete for 35% of the prize pool, and 70+ member guilds will compete for 45% of the prize pool.
Be warned; Guilds who move up into the next size bracket will be stuck in that bracket for the remainder of the event, so it is recommended to recruit wisely!

What is Pixels?
Pixels is a web3 farming and resource-gathering MMO with over 2.5 million total players, making it the most popular blockchain game by player count right now. Players can plant, harvest and sell crops, gather materials to craft items, and create their own farms for the Pixels community to explore.
Pixels leverages blockchain technology to record player progress, with players about to earn $PIXEL – the game’s native token – alongside a variety of other rewards.
The game is built on Ronin, an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible blockchain developed by the team behind Axie Infinity, Sky Mavis.
