Web3 game ecosystem Planet Mojo – creators of the Mojo series of titles, including Mojo Melee – has announced that it’ll be building its blockchain gaming ecosystem on Ethereum Layer-2 Base.
Migrating to Base will be Planet Mojo’s full suite of blockchain-based titles, including the aforementioned Mojo Melee, and upcoming RPG Prophecy of the Ancients.
Sumatra, the multichain tech stack that forms the backbone of Planet Mojo’s infrastructure, will integrate Base, playing a crucial role in powering the future of the Planet Mojo ecosystem.
What is Planet Mojo?
Planet Mojo is a web3 gaming ecosystem, formerly on Polygon, now on Base. Players interact with their range of titles to collect digital NFT assets and other rewards, powered by the $MOJO utility token.
Across the range of Mojo titles and beyond, players can use digital assets they’ve acquired. Each title is based on the same lore base, with interwoven narratives, stories and quest lines that all take place on the mysterious Planet Mojo.
Planet Mojo has received substantial financial backing from the likes of Animoca Brands, Merit Circle and The Spartan Group.
What is Base?
Powered by Optimism’s OP Stack, Base is a secure, low-cost, developer-friendly Ethereum Layer-2 network, incubated by the team at centralised crypto exchange Coinbase.
Base aspires to utilise blockchain to create an open, global economy that promotes creativity and innovation. It is utilised and supported by a wide array of popular names in web3, including Animoca Brands, TCG Parallel, and crypto analytics firm Nansen.
The Base blockchain plans to progressively decentralize over the coming years, with the ambition to become an open ecosystem for Coinbase products, users and assets.
