Web3 tower defence game Ragnarok: Monster World has announced that it will enter its Closed Beta phase later this month, with pre-registration to begin soon.
Built on the Ronin blockchain, Ragnarok: Monster World is a play-to-earn title that’s been in development since 2023, and is anticipated to hold its official launch in Q4 2024.
The Closed Beta Test will follow the game’s 3rd Nyangvine Draw, offering members of the community a chance to win exclusive prizes.
What is Ragnarok: Monster World?
Ragnarok: Monster World is a web3 title that combines components from popular video games with elements of Norse mythology. The game integrates the popular tower defence blueprint with monster-taming themes and strategic trading-card gameplay.
Monster World takes players on a Pokemon-esque journey through vibrant landscapes where they collect, merge and battle NFT monsters known as Ragmons. There are 400 different types of Ragmon, ranging from Common to Mythic in rarity, and these can be merged to increase their power.
The recent addition of the Level-Up Merge feature allows players to level up their Ragmons more easily by combining multiple Ragmons of the same type.

How does PVP combat work?
Players construct their own decks with up to eight monsters and spell cards; spells and other abilities can be earned by completing quests. A strong deck setup is pivotal to a players success in PVP combat.
Combat in Ragnarok: Monster World is quite complex. Players must curate their deck with the battle ahead in mind, selecting the character spells and monsters suitable for the job.
During PVP battles, players must destroy the opponents tower whilst defending their own. Selected monsters will attack automatically based on the deck setup, while players are in charge of casting spells to influence the course of the battle.
There are plans to add Raid and Warfare combat modes to the game at a later date, to foster a more collaborative and varied gaming experience.
