Riftstorm—a cooperative shooter developed by Confiction Labs and Agate—is now available on Steam as part of the Steam Next Fest. The demo went live on June 9 and will remain available to all Steam users until June 16 at 10:00 AM PT.
The release follows an earlier alpha playtest in 2024 and marks the first time the general public can access the game. Alongside the demo, the developers have partnered with the platform Raijin to run a limited-time giveaway with a potential prize pool of up to $10,000.
The prize pool amount depends on the number of participants, and winners will be drawn after the campaign ends on June 18.

What is Riftstorm?
Riftstorm is a cooperative, top-down action game with science fiction elements. Players take control of “Weavers,” individual characters with distinct stats, weapons, and abilities. The game supports both solo and team play with up to three players.
The current demo build includes four missions and four fully unlocked characters. Two of the missions focus on combat and item acquisition, whilst the others involve structured objectives including survival and staged combat scenarios. Each character starts at level 30, the highest level currently available in the demo. However, weapons still need to be earned through gameplay.
The game incorporates a simplified loadout and ability system for this demo version. It is being developed for Windows and is currently available only through Steam.

How to participate in the giveaway?
In parallel with the demo, the developers have partnered with Raijin to offer an optional giveaway. Participants can enter by wishlisting Riftstorm on Steam (10 entries) and adding the game to their Steam libraries (5 additional entries). Registration is handled through Raijin’s platform using a Steam account.
The giveaway runs until June 18 at 22:00 UTC. A total of 400 winners will be selected at random, with prize amounts scaled depending on how early a participant is drawn. The total prize pool is tiered based on the number of participants, ranging from lower values up to a cap of $10,000. At present, the number of entries places the prize pool at approximately $2,500.
The giveaway is open globally, though users should consult Raijin’s terms for eligibility requirements and local restrictions.
