Soccerverse Season 1 To Kick-Off On January 9

Web3 football management MMO Soccerverse has announced that its highly-anticipated Season 1 launch will arrive on January 9, 2025.

The game, which has been in Open Beta since March 2024, is a classic sports management title with a Web3 twist. As with other Web3 titles, Season 1 of Soccerverse is expected to offers a variety of blockchain-based rewards to participants – though further details on these reward systems have yet to be shared.

Upon launch, the game will be available to play on PC, Mac and mobile via browser.

What is Soccerverse?

Soccerverse is a Web3-powered football management game, built on Polygon.

In a similar vein to titles such as Football Manager, players take on the role as a football club co-owner, manager and player agent. Over 5,000 clubs and 140,000 players are available in the game, with their stats evolving based on the performance of their real-world counterparts.

These in-game players will see their stats will change based on real-world results, and so only the most shrewd managers will make the most of their resources to hit the top of the table.

The game has secured $4 million USD in funding to date, with $3.1 million USD coming in a 2024 funding round led by Square Enix and Hiro Capital. This capital helped assist the title’s development throughout 2024, ahead of this upcoming Season 1 launch.

What can we expect in Soccerverse Season 1?

Starting January 9, players will be able to purchase player packs from the in-game shop to start forming their teams. The first match week of Season 1 will commence on January 18, with the end of season date yet to be revealed.

Alongside the ability to own, train and utilise in-game players, users will also have the opportunity to own a share of a club or a player, creating opportunities to earn from wise investments made in-game.
