Web3 MOBA Sparkball have launched a Preseason phase ahead of the game’s full release.
Beginning on May 22, this early period allows participants to earn “Friendship” points through a series of online activities and community events. Activities include joining game nights, completing tasks through the official website, and participating in scheduled online events.
The Preseason serves as a lead-in to Season Zero, the game’s upcoming first major campaign. Whilst the full details of how points will be used have not yet been disclosed, players are encouraged to begin collecting them now to secure potential advantages later.

What is Sparkball?
Sparkball is a 4-versus-4 multiplayer game that combines mechanics from both sports games and multiplayer online battle arenas.
Players control distinct characters—referred to as heroes—with different abilities and roles. The objective is to score goals while preventing the opposing team from doing the same.
Gameplay involves both offensive and defensive coordination, with each match revolving around possession of a central ball and the positioning of teammates. The game is in development by Opti Games and is scheduled for release in Q4 2025 for Windows PC via Steam.
According to the official Steam listing, the game will require the following system specifications:
- Operating System: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel i5 (1.8 GHz or higher)
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: GeForce GTX 980 Ti or equivalent
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 6 GB available space

How to participate in Sparkball Preseason?
To take part in the Preseason, players must first register through the official Sparkball website. Account creation can be completed using an email address or social login options such as Google and Facebook. Once registered, users gain access to the Preseason dashboard, which tracks tasks and rewards.
The following activities are currently available to earn Friendship points:
- Submitting the event code SPARKS through the dashboard (250 points)
- Wishlisting the game on Steam (400 points)
- Attending scheduled game nights and community events listed on the event calendar
The event calendar can be found under the “Community” section of the site’s navigation menu. These events include social engagements and, eventually, matchmaking activities.
The game will be available as a free to play title during Steam Next Fest, which runs from June 9 to June 16.
