Web3 monster-catching MMORPG Spellborne has launched two significant events—the PvP Leagues Era 3 and the Beacon Orbs.
The PvP Leagues Era 3 will provide a competitive environment for ranking and gameplay points, whilst the Beacon Orbs event introduces a crossover with The Beacon, where players can collect orbs for valuable in-game items.
These events, which will run until mid-February 2025, provide opportunities for both experienced players and newcomers to gain rewards and participate in the evolving gameplay system.
What is Spellborne?
Spellborne is an MMORPG focused on monster capturing and strategic turn-based combat where players can catch and train wild monsters, participate in battles, and engage in various activities like crafting, farming, and fishing.
The game features a dynamic, player-driven narrative with choices that impact gameplay. Players can also send their monsters on expeditions for rewards, own customisable land, and compete in mini-games for additional rewards.

What is PvP Leagues Era 3?
PvP Leagues Era 3 marks the third competitive phase of Season 2: Risk and Reward, which began in November 2024.
The event runs from January 31 to February 14 and challenges players to engage in turn-based 1v1 battles with their monsters. Players are ranked on an ELO leaderboard based on their performance, with higher rankings leading to better rewards, including Gameplay Points. These points are a key part of the $BORNE token airdrop system, which rewards players based on their in-game activity.
Points are awarded not only for success in PvP battles but also for completing daily quests, capturing monsters, and other actions. Players can also earn Store Rewards and Creator Rewards through in-game purchases and content creation on social media, contributing to their airdrop points. The $BORNE token’s TGE is set for Q1 2025, with 5% of the token’s total supply allocated to rewards for Season 2 participants.
When is the Beacon Orbs?
The Beacon Orbs event is a limited-time crossover with Skillcap Studio’s The Beacon, an action roguelite RPG.
Running until February 12, this event allows Spellborne players to collect Blue Orbs by battling wild monsters. These orbs can then be used in a 2048-style minigame, where players can earn Golden Orbs. The Golden Orbs can be spent on in-game items, adding an additional layer of reward mechanics to the game.
The event offers a 50% drop rate for Blue Orbs during wild battles, with Beacon Writ of Passage NFT holders enjoying a 75% drop rate. To participate, players can access the Events screen in Spellborne, where they can join the minigame and start collecting orbs.
