Ubisoft will release Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E., a competitive multiplayer shooter, on December 18.
The game is based on the Netflix series Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix and incorporates blockchain technology to allow players to influence its development.
Ahead of the launch, Ubisoft partnered with Magic Eden to release the Niji Warrior NFT collection. These NFTs are limited to 10,000 free mints and offer specific in-game benefits, such as unique assets and rewards connected to Ubisoft titles like Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell.

Captain Laserhawk and Niji Warrior NFTs
Unlike static assets, the Niji Warrior NFTs evolve dynamically, influenced by a player’s in-game performance and activity.
NFT holders also gain voting rights to influence the game’s development, including decisions on new maps, story content, and characters.
“This project represents a new frontier in collaborative game development, where players become co-creators,” said Didier Genevois, technical director and executive producer at Ubisoft.

What else can we expect from Ubisoft?
Ubisoft plans to roll out updates and additional features following the game’s release.
Early access will begin for Niji Warrior NFT holders in late 2024, with a full public launch scheduled for early 2025. Planned updates include user-generated content, expanded governance options, and collaborations with other web3 partners.
Ubisoft’s development roadmap focuses on connecting player activity to in-game progression, with NFTs serving as a central feature for rewarding engagement.
