More Web3 mobile games are heading our way, thanks to ImmutableX!
XP Foundry, a Web3 game studio with ex-Sonic the Hedgehog, Game of Thrones, and Call of Duty talent, has announced that their debut title Rooniverse will be migrating from Solana to Ethereum Layer 2 solution ImmutableX.
Rooniverse is the second Solana-based game to migrate to ImmutableX in the past month, following a similar move by management sim Tiny Colony several weeks ago.
Rooniverse is a free-to-play, “hyper-royale” title available on iOS, Android, PC and Mac that sees cell-shaded creatures battle it out in thrilling PVP combat. Players participate in crafting and social gameplay, building their own empires, with on-chain collectibles integrated through an optional blockchain layer.
With the transition of assets to ImmutableX, Rooniverse will offer current and new users alike a user-friendly experience with fast, cost-efficient transactions, zero-fee minting for on-chain characters and items, and Ethereum’s robust security.
Andrew Sorokovsky, VP of Global Business Development at Immutable, said:
“We’re extremely excited that XP Foundry and their debut Web3 title Rooniverse are joining the ever-growing ImmutableX family. The partnership will greatly help both Immutable and XP Foundry onboard millions of mobile gamers together with a combination of chaotic fun and frictionless blockchain integrations to support what really matters: ownership, trading, and interoperability.”
James Finley, Game Director at Rooniverse, noted:
“Immutable has great features to facilitate mass adoption, like gas-free trading and a development roadmap exclusively focused on serving games.”
Germán Palau, XP Foundry’s Co-Founder, also added:
“Through our many conversations, Immutable has shown us that they clearly ‘get it’ when it comes to understanding mainstream gamers and getting rid of ‘NFT stigma’ that prevents open adoption. We love using blockchain integrations as features for our game, [and] for this reason, I think we’re making the best long-term decision for [Rooniverse].”
Rooniverse’s Open Alpha is slated to launch later this month, with the Beta in Q2/Q3 and a full release before the end of the year.
