Web3 gaming platform Perion has launched XP.GG, a universal Battle Pass for web2 and web3 games that rewards players as they hone their skills in their favourite titles.
“XP.GG lets gamers Get Good and Get Rewarded by playing the games they already love,” explained Amos Whitewolf, co-founder of Perion and CTO of XP.GG. “The more levels gamers unlock, the more rewards they get, and the higher the chance they have of winning thousands of dollars of weekly prizes.”
Currently, the platform is only compatible with Fortnite, with Counter-Strike 2 and Overwatch set to be integrated into the XP.GG system by the end of August. Many more top-tier titles are set to follow before the end of the year, including web2 titles such as League of Legends, Dota 2 and PUBG, and web3 games such as Shrapnel.
How does the XP.GG Battle Pass work?
Players start by creating an XP.GG account, and linking it to their Discord and Epic Games profiles.
Using the Fortnite integration as an example, the XP.GG Battle Pass presents players with a variety of Fortnite-based challenges. Upon completion, players will earn raffle entries and XP that allows them to progress through XP.GG’s 15 Battle Pass tiers.
The Battle Pass also features a unique multiplier system. Players will earn a progressive XP multiplier for future XP.GG seasons, with a 5% XP multiplier at Level 5, a 10% XP multiplier at Level 10, and a 15% XP multiplier at Level 15.
During this inaugural Season 0, tens of thousands of dollars of rewards are up for grabs, including a $6,000 USD gaming PC, a Fortnite gaming chair, a PlayStation 5 Slim, and exclusive collectibles such as a $1,000 USD CS2 knife.
Players can also pay to upgrade to the Premium Battle Pass. This provides further XP multipliers, exclusive rewards like $PERC tokens, access to unique NFTs, a greater chance of securing monthly prizes, and the ability to enter weekly $5,000 USD prize raffles.
Each season will provide increasingly lucrative rewards as XP.GG grows. Developers Perion have secured partnerships with several game developers and esports organisations, such as Talon Esports and GIANTX, to provide players with additional opportunities in future.
