Yield Guild Games (YGG) has announced a partnership with Web3 TCG Parallel to hold a $100,000 tournament at the upcoming YGG Play Summit in Manila, Philippines.
Held from November 19-23, this in-person esports event will be a highlight of the wider YGG Play Summit, which will also include a one-day conference, a cosplay competition, and a showcase of top upcoming Web3 games.
Two online qualifiers will be held to qualify for the in-person tournament, to be held on October 12-13 and October 26-27. Both of these qualifiers will award Parallel League points, with 16 players moving on to the main event at the YGG Play Summit.

What is Parallel?
Parallel is a free-to-play Web3 trading card game, built on Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain Base.
Set in a futuristic sci-fi universe, players build decks of cards to face against one another, banking energy and building armies to decide the fate of humanity.
The game is currently in Open Beta, and is accessible on PC via the Epic Games Store.

How else are YGG and Parallel working together?
On top of the $100,000 in-person tournament at YGG Play Summit, YGG members will be hosting Parallel-related giveaways across their social channels in the run-up to the event.
“TCG players have always been passionate about the games they play, and many look for opportunities to test their skill at a high-stakes competitive level,” said Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG. “Parallel is in a very good position to be able to cater to these players, with many of its mechanics inspired by competitive TCGs such as Magic: the Gathering and Hearthstone.”
“When YGG approached us for this partnership, we saw an opportunity to bring a unique experience to current players and newcomers,” said Kalos, Co-Founder of Parallel. “We will be able to emulate that feeling of playing with other people in a card shop while also showing them the advantages that web3 offers through Parallel TCG.”
