New cards, new abilities and new challenges – the Polygon-powered trading card game has launched its latest expansion, Hexbound Invasion!
A mysterious sickness grips the land.
On January 16th, Hexbound Invasion – the latest expansion for the popular Web3 trading card Skyweaver – went live. 50 new cards, the introduction of the Slay ability and the all-new Skypass were unleashed on players; and the reception has been terrific!
Hexbound Invasion sees the progression of Skyweavers lore, as the Hexbound sickness spreads chaos across the land. Players must rally to defend against this new threat – or choose to harness the power for themselves.

The expansion includes six new units and four new spells for each of the 10 Prisms, giving players a whole new range of strategic opportunities.
Skyweaver has continued to amass a thriving community of dedicated players. According to a game analysis by Ancient88, the Skyweaver community is a force to be reckoned with, boasting over 250,000 players who’ve created accounts, 98,000 members on the official Discord, and a Twitter following of 24,000.
The brand-new Slay ability is activated when a player’s card destroys an enemy unit, with effects varying from card to card such as drawing a card, playing the next spell twice or adding barriers to unit allies.
Hexbound Invasion brought with it the introduction of the Skypass, a battle pass system that allows players to unlock rewards as they play such as base cards, limited-edition tradable Hexbound Card Back and more. Skypass will run on a Season basis, with progress being reset, and new rewards being revealed, each season.

Philippe Castonguay, Director of Product for Skyweaver, said:
Were thrilled with the successful release of Hexbound Invasion. The response from our players has been super positive, and theyve shared some critical feedback that we’re working hard to improve upon.
We’re very excited about the release of The Skypass as well. Hexbound is an ambitious expansion and The Skypass elevates our progression system – together making the Skyweaver experience fresh for both new and veteran players.
We’ve put a lot of hard work into these upgrades, and it’s great to see them being enjoyed by so many. We know our players are always looking for new challenges and experiences, so we’re already hard at work on exciting new content and features. We can’t wait to share more details in the coming months.
Unlike other trading card games, Skyweaver does not offer any packs for sale and players are presented with the equally thrilling opportunity to earn their cards through a variety of rewards and by trading with other players in the community.
