Former President of the United States, Donald Trump, has announced that he intends to release a fourth collection of NFTs.
In an interview with Bloomberg on Monday, regarding his first NFT collection, Trump stated that “the whole thing sold out: 45,000 of the cards. I did it three times [and] I’m going to do another one because the people want me to do another one.”
Interest in a fourth set of Trump Digital Trading Cards has likely been stimulated by the recent assassination attempt on the current Republican Presidential candidate during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
However, given the steep decline in value of his three previous NFT releases, there is much scepticism about the longevity of a fourth NFT release.

Trump’s previous NFT collections
On December 15, 2022, Trump debuted his first collection of 45,000 digital trading cards, which sold out within 24 hours. The following day, the value of these Polygon-based NFTs saw a major increase on secondary markets as public interest rose.
This initial success was short lived however, as by April 2023, prices dived with the launch of his second NFT collection – falling further with the launch of the third Trump NFT collection in December 2023, which saw the addition of 100,000 NFTs based on his arrest in Georgia.
The ambiguous response to Trump’s three prior NFT collections – despite the utility and opportunities some of the rarer NFTs held – suggests that the novelty of owning an NFT released by the former President does have an appeal, although their real value as collectable assets is up for debate.
What does Trump’s involvement in the crypto space mean?
There is hope that by creating and promoting his own NFT collections, Trump will help the cause of NFTs, cryptocurrency and web3 at large were he to secure a second Presidential term.
Trump is reported to have stated during a previous Mar-a-Lago dinner for NFT holders that he believes that cryptocurrency can be a useful asset class.
Whether these NFT releases have a wider significance ahead of the U.S. Presidential election later this year, the prospect of a fourth release has certainly ignited conversation.
A prospective release date for a fourth Trump Digital Trading Cards NFT collection has yet to be revealed.
