Built on Immutable zkEVM, the game utilises the Immutable Passport for game access. Budding players can obtain an access code by following the instructions provided by Space Nation on X, which includes details on the recommended PC specs.
Space Nation Online is set to be the centrepiece of a broader virtual economy, with plans to include animated shorts, spinoff games, and a TV series.
What is Space Nation Online?
Space Nation Online is an upcoming sci-fi Web3 MMORPG, built on Immutable zkEVM and available on PC.
Developed by an experienced team of ex-AAA developers, players explore the Telikos Cluster – a vast interstellar galaxy – forming guilds and taking part in massive space battles against other players for honour, glory, and ample blockchain-based rewards.
The game utilises $OIK as a utility token and reward mechanism, earned through in-game activity or through actively trading Space Nation NFTs on the OKX NFT marketplace, with $CHR as an in-game currency.
During beta tests of the game thus far, battles have taken place between over 200 player-owned and player-controlled ships simultaneously – a level of scale which the developers hope will continue to grow.
How long will Space Nation Online be in its soft launch phase?
Space Nation Online will remain in its soft launch phase for 12 weeks. During this time, access to the game is limited, and the development team will look to review, make changes to, and stabilise the economy prior to a global launch.
The game hopes to attract a Web2 gaming audience, rather than the existing Web3 crowd. “From the beginning, Space Nation has been dedicated to building a long-term prosperous virtual economy — not a Ponzi-like bubble,” explained Jerome Wu, co-founder and CEO of Space Nation explained on X.
“We’ve demonstrated the potential of integrating an MMORPG’s economic system with web3 technology and tools,” says Wu – with over 180 billion $CHR traded during closed beta tests thus far.
