Web3 shooter Xociety has opened pre-registration ahead of its largest playtest to date, which will be hosted via the Epic Games Store.
Players who register early are eligible to take part in online missions tied to a reward system that includes in-game items, NFTs, and $XO token packs.
Whilst the playtest date has not yet been confirmed, developers have launched a task-based system to build engagement ahead of the event.

What is Xociety?
Xociety is a third-person shooter with role-playing mechanics, developed for the Sui blockchain.
The game combines player-versus-player (PvP) and player-versus-environment (PvE) elements in a sci-fi setting. Players control characters in combat scenarios that require both strategy and coordination, particularly in competitive squad-based modes.
Though Xociety is available to wishlist on the Epic Games Store, a final Early Access launch date has not yet been announced.

What to expect from the public playtest?
No official date has been set for the playtest, and the development team has not confirmed whether new features will be introduced. However, based on earlier information, it is expected that the test will revisit and expand on content trialled during the January 2025 Spotlight Playtest.
A competitive mode called Squad Match is expected to feature in later versions. In this mode, ten squads of three players compete to gather and extract a resource known as Motus.
The developers have also partnered with beta testing platform xCBT.io, who will support the playtest phase with a reward pool of up to $100,000, though the exact distribution mechanics has not been announced.

How to participate in the upcoming playtest?
Players can pre-register by visiting the official Xociety dApp page and link their Epic Games account and connect a Sui Wallet. Linking an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible wallet is optional, though not required for participation.
After registration, users can access a series of online tasks through the missions portal such as following specific social media accounts to posting about pre-registration on the platform X. Completing these tasks grants points, which place users on a global leaderboard. Certain milestones—such as completing at least two tasks—make participants eligible for potential in-game rewards, including NFT drops and $XO token packs.
The mission system is part of a three-phase plan. The first phase involves pre-test tasks, the second will be the playtest itself, and the third will coincide with the Early Access release.
