Web3 trading card game Cross The Ages has launched a new staking system that allows players to become eligible for weekly airdrops of powerful Special Rare (SR) cards.
The new system sees players stake $CTA, the game’s native utility token, with the value of $CTA staked directly influencing the number of SR cards players can receive each week.
These weekly airdrops will include Elemental SR cards – some of the most powerful cards in the game, with unique abilities that offer a significant advantage to players, particularly in the Arise Lands system.
How does this new staking system work?
Staking is now open to all Cross The Ages players, utilising a stage-based lock-in system. Active players who have staked tokens and/or acquired enough Gaming Points will qualify for SR card airdrops.
Those with a mint pass will see their staking costs reduced by 50%. They will also be able to stake a higher amount of $CTA, and can therefore receive more SR cards each week.
Tokens will be available to unstake at the end of the last airdrop session on July 31 at 7:59 UTC.
Other than staking, players can also unlock SR cards with Gaming Points earned through gameplay. A minimum of 700 Gaming Points are required to unlock an SR card, reduced for mint pass holders.
Staking $CTA will also earn players VIP points towards unlocking incentives such as lower minting costs, store discounts, transaction fee discounts and early access to new features.
