Popular TCG Gods Unchained has recently implemented significant updates, introducing two new game formats and a revamped Daily Play Earnings (DPE) system.
These updates are designed to enhance the strategic elements of the game, particularly focusing on deck-building under specific conditions.
The final patch for the Dread Awakening event has also been released.
What are the new game formats?
Over the last two weeks, Gods Unchained launched two limited-time game formats aimed at challenging players with specific deck-building constraints.
The first format, “Flashback: Divine Order,” was available from August 20 to August 22. It required players to craft decks using a restricted pool of cards from the Welcome, Core, Genesis, Etherbots, Trial of the Gods, and Divine Order sets.
This format introduced unique rules, such as applying the player’s current seed rank—reflecting their progress in the regular game—and restricting participation to those with a seed rank of 7 or higher. In addition, players were safeguarded against demotion below rank 7, promo cards were banned, and the DPE modifier was set at 1.5.
Following this, a second format was introduced on August 26 and will run until August 30. Whilst it follows similar rules to the first format, it also features a community challenge where players can submit their decks on the official Gods Unchained Discord channel where the winning deck will be showcased on the Format’s Wall of Fame.
What are the changes to the Daily Play Earnings system?
The update also brought significant changes to the Daily Play Earnings (DPE) system.
The DPE Modifier, which determines the number of fragments a player earns after winning a match, has been recalibrated to better reflect the player’s rank and the quality of their deck.
For example, the value of Mythic cards—considered the rarest in Gods Unchained—has been increased from 125 to 250 within the Deck Modifier system.
Additionally, fragment earnings are now limited to players who have achieved at least rank 7, a change aimed at reducing the influence of bots at lower ranks and rewarding more dedicated players. This adjustment is intended to ensure that active and higher-ranked players receive fair compensation for their efforts.
What’s next to Gods Unchained?
The final patch for the Dread Awakening event has also been released, bringing updates to the Dreadtouch mechanic and other gameplay refinements.
This patch marks the conclusion of updates for Dread Awakening, as the event’s unique design approach has reached its final stage. The recent tweaks were made to fine-tune the event and resolve any remaining issues.
Looking ahead, future events will shift their focus to new thematic designs that align more closely with the evolving gameplay dynamics of Gods Unchained.
