Game development studio Gameplay Galaxy has secured $24M USD in funding to develop Trial Xtreme Freedom, a blockchain-powered entry to their popular Trial Xtreme Series.
Trial Xtreme Freedom builds on previous entries by allowing players to create, own and trade in-game tracks, bikes and other items as NFTs, creating a more player-driven title.
“We believe that web3 represents the natural evolution of the Free-to-Play model, paving the way for the most significant transition in gaming history,” stated Doron Kagan, CEO of Gameplay Galaxy. “We’re excited to be at the forefront of this revolution, driving innovation and creating value for our players and stakeholders.”
What is Trial Xtreme Freedom?
Trial Xtreme Freedom is the latest mobile game in the Trial Xtreme series, which sees players tackle cross bike challenges in head-to-head races. The title will be free-to-play, but it will also feature an NFT ecosystem that allows players to create, own and trade their in-game bikes, tracks and other assets.
There is also a social aspect to the game, allowing players to customise their characters to express their individuality, and a Festival Zone where players can take a break from the action and enjoy more social features for the community.
Trial Xtreme Freedom is currently in closed alpha, with a technical test open to players in the Philippines and India to try out the current version of the title.

How will this funding be used?
The Trial Xtreme series debuted in 2011, and has since accumulated over 250 million downloads. Gameplay Galaxy plans to use this funding for their first blockchain-powered instalment to the series, creating their most immersive and player-driven game yet.
“Web3 isn’t just about changing the gaming landscape – it’s about redefining ownership and participation in the digital world,” stated Maya Gurevich, COO of Gameplay Galaxy.
Gameplay Galaxy is planning to implement a token, alongside a range of bike and track NFTs that will not require crypto wallets – as the developers want the game to be easy to access for their existing non-web3 playerbase.
