Remember those generative, animated Ninjas that hit WAX last year? Next week, the game built for them goes live!
It’s been a long wait for those that picked up a Waxel Ninja last year, but the time has finally come. Come July 12th, the Waxel World game will finally be launching!
What is Waxel World?
Waxel World is a 16-bit style Play-and-Earn game on the WAX blockchain based around the Waxel Ninjas.
The gameplay revolves around gathering NFT resources such as ore, crops and wood. In future updates, new features will be added such as gathering food and crafting new items (weapons, armour etc.) and buildings.
To gather these materials, you’ll need to send out your Waxel Ninja to find citizens. These citizens can acquire one of three professions – Gatherer, Crafter and Refiner – through NFT blends.
Gatherers are sent out to acquire raw materials, whilst the Crafters and Refiners process these raw materials into refined materials and useful items that the Gatherer can then use to become more efficient.
One of the main goals of the team was to ensure that every in-game asset is an NFT, or can be minted to become one. This is their way to ensure that players truly own all of their NFTs in the game and can freely decide what they want to do with them.
The Team
The core team consists of Ryu,�Frittchen and CoinCobra – who you may know if you’re a regular in the WAX community. These 3 friends came together to try their luck at creating an NFT project over a year ago – heralding the launch of Waxel Ninjas, their generative pixel art collection, and now Waxel World.
Frittchen, Co-Founder of Waxel World, said:
“None of us knew how the market would react to a randomly generated, animated pixel art collection. After dropping our Waxel Ninja Avatars to see how the art style would be received, it was clear that there was a market for this style of NFT. Our community has grown fast, with a lot of hardcore Ninja fans who have supported us over the last year.”
With a growing community and Ryu and CoinCobra’s passion for games, it was natural that their next step would be an NFT-based game. This was the start of Waxel World, which they’ve been working on for over a year.

Waxel Ninjas
The only thing you’ll need to play the game is a Waxel Ninja.
These NFTs were one of the first generative collectibles with different animations for rarities on the WAX blockchain. The collection consists of 10,000 unique NFTs, generated from 75 different traits split into 10 categories for 234 million possible combinations.
Waxel Ninjas are available at $29.90 each, which you can purchase here. Once opened, a randomly-generated Ninja will land in your wallet.
Each Ninja comes with different traits, backgrounds, weapons and more, with the rarity affecting your gameplay within Waxel World. You can determine the rarity of your Ninja by viewing the rarity table on their website.
Launch Day
