Web3 game development studio Eden Games – a subsidiary of Animoca Brands – has announced that it is developing a blockchain-based kart racing title, Cosmic Royale, built as part of the Mocaverse community.
Cosmic Royale will see 40 players battle it out across numerous racing rounds, with a last-man standing final round – reminiscent of popular casual title Fall Guys.
The title is the latest addition to Animoca’s Motorverse gaming ecosystem – which includes titles such as Torque Drift 2, REVV Racing and MotoGP Ignition – and is set to release in Q4 2024.
What is Cosmic Royale?
Developed by Eden Games – creators of Test Drive Unlimited and Gear.Club – Cosmic Royale is a Mario Kart-esque kart racing title. The game will pit 40 players against one another in a tournament-style rounds system of back-to-back races, culminating in a winner-takes-all ‘Final Royale’ round.
The title will be the pilot experience for Cosmic Club, the new social community platform for the Mocaverse, with the trailer showcasing a variety of popular NFT avatars, such as Cool Cats and the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
“Each player can truly personalise their experience by importing their custom drivers and karts thanks to our collaboration with various PFP collections,” said David Nadal, Creative Director of Eden Games.
Who can play Cosmic Royale?
A limited-access beta test of Cosmic Royale will be available to Moca NFT holders and Moca ID owners from July 24.
These players will earn Realm Points (RP) through playing in the beta test, which are anticipated to convert into $MOCA tokens via a future airdrop.
$MOCA, the official token of the Mocaverse, launched last week. The token currently sits at $0.105 USD at the time of writing, with a market cap over $115M USD and a FDV approaching $1B USD.
Following the limited-access beta, the full version of Cosmic Royale will be made available for everyone to download for free from the Epic Games Store.
